Innovation Development of Coffee Berry Borrer (Hypothenemus hampei Ferr.) Pest Control Technology and Their Effectiveness

The Coffee Berry Borer (CBB) (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari)(Coleoptera:Curculionidae:Scolytinae) is a major pest of coffee plants. It caused damage to berries and economic losses for farmers. Various technologies have been carried out control CBB, including cultural biological, chemical, sanitation. However, the technology only few literature that discussed effectiveness efficiency, both socially, economically their impact on environment. Thus, this paper aimed to: 1) review research CBB based characteristics; 2) assessing efficiency in controlling compatibility, applicability, availability, safety, sustainability, affordability economic. This study was conducted using systematic from search engine Science.direct, Google.scholar, which identified 1996 2020. resulted showed there were 59 articles related divided into several types, namely 22 discuss cultural, 31 biological control, 5 chemically, 1 discusses orchard sanitation technology. are considered if it applicability can be main choice. Many studies showing advantages compared other technologies, thus, as preventive monitoring effort still being developed. One them developing with landscape approach.
